Invaders of Atlantis (Early Access)
A downloadable adventure
Long after the oceans drank Atlantis...
The Atlanteans lingered...
INVADERS OF ATLANTIS is a short adventure inspired by mid 20th-century pulp magazines, like Tales from the Crypt and Weird Fantasy. This early access version is designed for Cairn 2E and its sharp, flitty ruleset.
But what's the adventure? To steal the abyssal horde of Lord Blubub, one of the last remaining Atlantean failsons. For millennia, they invaded the surface, now—at the turning of the literal tide—the surface invades them back.
- Dripping with theme. Race raiders, abyssal mariners, and the tide itself in a bloody rush to loot Lord Blubub's dreaded submersible, the Chyrbdis.
- Factions like depth charges. Make volatile allies, fearsome foes, and try not to get too close when they tear each other apart.
- Classic weird fantasy characters. Fishbowl-headed skeletons, pirates with a death wish, and the pharaoh himself, Akhenaten, dead but unbroken.
- Puzzles, loot, and lore. Thematic spellbooks, simple but devious quandaries, and plenty of little secrets and stories to uncover.

Designed for Cairn 2E. Created for the APPX N Game Jam.
What does Early Access mean? This version is for the APPX N Game Jam, which means it's shorter and less polished than what I'd like. If you download this adventure today, you're grandfathered in if/ when it's updated.
Future updates might include:
- Extensive playtesting for holes in the haul and unknown treasures.
- Expanded map and location details. The current version is truncated.
- More characters, monsters, and bizarre foes for OSR-style challenges.
- New system compatibility, I'm specifically hoping for Black Sword Hack.
- More accessibility features and PDF remediation.

You had me at "octopuses piloting coral-encrusted skeletons from inside fishbowl heads." Super fun adventure, phenomenal cover, and excellent layout.
Very excited to run/play this! Such a fantastic and evocative-looking adventure.
I think I've noticed a typo; in the Poxlin's Raiders section, it says 'to greedy to be smart'. Should that say 'too greedy...'?
Yes! Good catch. I'll probably fix this over the weekend. Fingers crossed it doesn't break to another line.
Ooo, fingers crossed here too!
Love this - the design and the writing are so perfectly pulpy and there are so many fun ideas to play with.
Thank you! The approach for this adventure was definitely seeing how many things I could cram into it. The more volatile the better.
I really enjoyed this! Particularly liked Lord Blubub and thought the layout was super clean. Also the cover does good work at helping bring the vibes of the adventure to life. Good luck in the jam :)
Thanks! The jam was great. I'm looking forward to reading other folks' submissions.
